Using her radio program, newspaper columns, and booklets (7 million copies of her booklet YOUR SHARE were distributed), she advised families on maintaining an adequate diet despite diminished wages and war-rationed foods. She was so respected that the United States Office of War Information asked her to do a special radio show on the NBC network called OUR NATION'S RATIONS.
