In 1921, the Washburn Crosby Company hired its first home economist, and soon after, the Home Service Department was born. Marjorie Child Husted, who has been widely regarded as the personification of Betty Crocker, managed the department for twenty years. Eventually, as Betty's name became synonymous with sound cooking advice and recipes that always worked, the Home Service Department became the famous Betty Crocker Kitchens. Today, there are seven kitchens and three photography kitchens staffed with about forty people who work together to ensure that only top-quality products, cookbooks and recipes are available to you.
