Peel pumpkin or baking squash and cut in small pieces. Boil in a little water and mash. Canned mashed pumpkin may also be used.
Heat a frying pan and add cooking oil, onion, garlic, green pepper, salt, and sugar. Let cook until tender and add mashed pumpkin or baking squash.
MENU SUGGESTION: in the northeast, a little carne seca (jerky) would be added.
