A rich 2/3 cup water coconut dessert.
Boil water with sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Boil until mixture spins a thread.
Remove the cloves and the cinnamon and add butter. Remove from the heat and add 8 well-beaten egg yolks and grated coconut. Return to the heat and stir constantly until the eggs are cooked and the pudding is thick.
Serve in a compote dish—beautiful and very rich.
NOTE: To make the very typical candy the women from Bahia sell, just cook this Cocada a little longer and drop in tablespoon sizes on waxed paper to cool.
