Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 5 tablespoons sugar. Continue beating until very stiff and set aside.
Beat the egg yolks adding the 5 tablespoons of sugar until light yellow. Bring the milk to a boil. Add a little of the hot milk to the egg yolk mixture and slowly add to the rest of the hot milk a little at a time.
Pour into a serving dish. With a tablespoon drop individual “glaciers” made of the egg white mixture onto the milk mixture—leave separated. Chill and serve.
