Heat 4 tablespoons butter in a large skillet. Add onion and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until tender and lightly golden. Add ground beef, salt, pepper and savory cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the gravy and heat until bubbling. Spoon mixture into a greased 2-quart baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes over top of meat and dot with remaining butter. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until potatoes are lightly browned.
