Dissolve the jello and red hots in the boiling water stir in the applesauce, lemon juice and salt. Chill until partially set. Add 1/2 cup chopped California walnuts. Pour into 8" by 8" by 2" pan. Blend cream cheese (softened), milk and mayonnaise. Spoon on top of applesauce mixture and swirl through salad to marble. Chill overnight.
