1 cup pinto beans
1 cup black beans
1 cup kidney beans
1 cup split peas yellow
1 cup blackeyed peas
1 cup lentils
1 cup frozen green peas or fresh, split
1 cup northern beans
In clean pint jar, spoon 2 tablespoons of pinto beans in bottom; continue adding 2 tablespoons of each bean or pea variety in the order given till jar is full. Makes 4 pint jars. Screw on lid; cover with circle of gingham and tie with brown twine. Put the instructions for Pioneer Bean Soup (recipe in this cookbook) on a recipe card to enclose with the gift.
