Sprinkle salt on cucumbers and let sit for 1 to 1 1/2 hours while cucumbers sweat. Add water to cukes, rinse and drain off liquid. In a separate bowl, stir half and half, sugar, pepper, dill weed, and vinegar. Pour over the cucumbers, add tomatoes, and gently stir. Let chill for an hour to let flavors blend. This creamed vegetable dish provides color, variety and flavor to summer entrees.
