Shred cabbage and wash in colander. Melt butter in Dutch oven. Add apples and fry for 10-15 minutes before adding cabbage. Set Dutch oven in fire pan with 8-10 briquets underneath and 15 on the lid and cook for about 15-20 minutes. Add vinegar and cook until cabbage is tender.
