Cream butter and sugar. Beat until fluffy, and add egg and molasses. Stir together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves, and blend into beaten ingredients. Form dough into balls, and roll in granulated sugar. Place on non-greased baking sheet, and bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until cookies have flattened and have cracks on top.
