Lasagna in a Bun

Ingredients

8 sub or hoagie buns or round French bread
1 pound ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 cup spaghetti sauce
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Directions:

Cut thin layer off top of buns or bread. Hollow out centers, leaving 1/4-inch-thick shells. Discard tops and centers. Brown ground beef and onion; drain. Add spaghetti sauce, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Cook 4 or 5 minutes.

Combine ricotta, Parmesan, 1/2 Cheddar and 1/2 mozzarella cheese. Spoon meat mixture into buns. Top with cheese mixture. Place on baking sheet. Cover loosely with foil and bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with remaining cheeses. Bake 2 or 3 minutes more.
