Cut meat into 1-inch pieces each, about 1/2 inch thick. Brown in hot oil, then remove from pan. Add gravy mix and water, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Add onion, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, and seasonings. Add meat and mix well. Turn into 1 1/2-quart casserole. Cover and bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°. Remove bay leaf and serve with noodles.
Note: Can be made the day before and just heated up.
