Mix yogurt, cilantro, olive oil, garam masala, salt, and garlic in a glass baking dish. Add chicken to marinade, 1 piece at a time, coating all sides. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.
Set Global Sun Oven out to preheat.
Scatter onions in a large roasting pan. Set chicken pieces on top of onions (chicken will still be coated with marinade). Discard any remaining marinade. Cover and roast in Sun Oven until chicken is cooked through, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Serve with pan juices over rice
