Prepare hot roll mix according to package directions; knead dough 10 times on a well-floured surface. Roll into an 18-inch by 12-inch rectangle; set aside. Mix butter and dressing mix; spread on dough. Sprinkle with cheese; arrange ham slices over cheese. Starting at long edge of dough, roll up jelly-roll style. Pinch raw edges together; place seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Pinch ends together. Snip top of dough at 2-inch intervals. Let rise until double in bulk, 45 minutes to one hour. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes, until golden. Slice to serve.
Tip: For an elegant yet quick last-minute appetizer, toss a drained jar of Italian antipasto mix with bite-size cubes of mozzarella or provolone cheese. Serve with cocktail picks.
