Cut butter into cake mix until crumbly. Add eggs and chips, incorporating thoroughly. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375°. Remove from fridge and roll into walnut-sized balls. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated oven 10–12 minutes. Cool on baking rack. Store in air-tight container.
This cookie dough can be rolled into a log, tightly wrapped and frozen, for use at a later date.
