Slice the top from bread loaf. Hollow out center, tearing bread into cubes; set aside. Sauté onion with oil in a medium saucepan. When onion is soft, place in a medium bowl; blend in remaining ingredients. Spoon mixture into hollow loaf; replace bread lid and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Add reserved bread cubes to baking sheet; bake both for an additional 30 minutes. Serve dip with warmed bread cubes.
