Combine 3 rolls together and flatten into a 10-inch circle. Repeat 3 more times with other rolls. In a small bowl combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle sugar mixture over each circle and top with nuts and apple.
With a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each circle into 8 wedges. Roll each wedge up from wide edge and place, pointed side down, on a sprayed baking sheet. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let rise 30-45 minutes.
Remove wrap and bake at 350°F for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately place on cooling rack. For icing combine sugar, milk and extract until smooth. Drizzle over twists and top with finely chopped pecans.
