One fresh lemon will give you about 2 to 3 tablespoons of juice. To get the most juice out of a lemon or lime, it should be at room temperature. Before squeezing, roll the lemon back and forth on the counter several times with firm pressure, which helps to burst the cells holding the juice. Or try zapping whole lemons in the microwave on High for about 20 seconds or so to warm them first, which also helps release the juice.
