SUCCESS TIP
If you don't have mint-chocolate chips, you can use semisweet chocolate chips and mint extract. Use 2/3 cup chips for either loaf, and use 1/8 teaspoon extract for the 1 ½-pound loaf and ¼ teaspoon for the 2-pound loaf. Or use just the semisweet chocolate chips for chocolate bread.
SANDWICH BOARD
Make a Grilled Banana Peanut Butter on homemade bread made with semisweet chocolate chips. Spread 2 slices of bread with peanut butter-creamy or crunchy. Place slices of banana on one slice of bread, and top with the remaining slice. Butter the outside of the sandwich, then cook over medium heat until it's toasted and the peanut butter is melted, which will take about 8 minutes. Milk washes this sandwich down perfectly.
