Make cake according to package directions. Spoon batter into 24 greased or paper-lined muffin tins, filling 2/3 full.
Filling:
In mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, egg, and sugar until smooth. Fold in chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls into batter. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until tests done. Allow to sit for at least 10 minutes before removing from muffin tin.
