Cut onions into 1/4-inch slices. Separate into rings. Heat about 2 inches of oil in frying pan. Mix flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Soak rings in milk and dip into flour mixture. Fry a few at a time and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with additional salt.
