Preheat oven to 350°. Wash and dry chicken. In oven, melt shortening and butter in 9x13x2-inch pan. Mix flour, salt, paprika and pepper. Coat chicken thoroughly with flour mixture. Place chicken, skin-side-down, in melted shortening. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Turn chicken and cook 30 minutes more.
