French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

1 loaf day-old French bread or Italian bread, sliced
1 cup sweet cream
1 cup milk
8 eggs
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions:

Layer bread in a buttered 9x12-inch pan. Mix the cream, milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg and pour over the bread. Mix the butter, brown sugar, and pecans. Dot this mixture over the egg/bread. Cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes, covered.
