Press potatoes into the bottom of a greased 9"x9" baking pan; brush with butter. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes; top with cheeses and ham. Set aside. Beat milk, eggs and salt; pour over cheese mixture. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
