Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in onions and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently. Add sweet potatoes and water; reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are nearly tender, stirring occasionally. Add brown sugar and rosemary. Uncover and cook, stirring gently, over medium-low heat for 4 to 5 minutes, or until onions and sweet potatoes are glazed.
