With an electric mixer on medium speed, blend together butter and cream cheese. Add egg yolk and vanilla; blend thoroughly. Gradually beat in dry cake mix. Dough will be slightly stiff. Cover and refrigerate dough for 20 minutes. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased or parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 14 minutes, or until lightly golden.
