Place apples in a large bowl; set aside. Combine sugars and cinnamon in a small bowl; sprinkle over apples, tossing to coat. Brush a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish with one tablespoon butter. Add apples; drizzle with remaining butter. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until tender.
Tip: Sprinkle a little fresh lemon juice over sliced apples before baking…the tart juice will bring out the flavor of the apples.
