Combine tomato purée, brown sugar, and water, and cook 5 minutes. Put bread cubes in a greased casserole, and pour melted butter over. Pour hot tomato mixture over all. Do not stir. Bake 50 minutes in a 325° oven.
Editor’s Extra: Best to cut crust from bread, cube it small, then let sit out till very dry. This gives the pudding a nice crusty texture.
