Boil potatoes with soup base, seasoning blend, and garlic in water to barely cover. Allow to boil slowly till water has almost completely evaporated, and potatoes are soft, 15–20 minutes. They are mashable now, but you can fold the butter in gently if you want to keep the potatoes in pieces. Taste to see if it needs more butter, and/or salt and pepper.
Editor's Extra: If you can't find frozen seasoning blend in the frozen vegetable section of your grocery store, you can make up your own mix of chopped onions, bell peppers, celery, and parsley.
