Cook whole onions in small amount salted water, covered, until barely tender, about 20 minutes. Arrange in well-buttered baking dish season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat together honey and butter (or margarine) pour over onions. Sprinkle lightly with ground cloves. Bake at 400 degrees F. for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Note: These may be baked at a lower temperature for a longer time to adjust to an oven meal.
