Wash and trim brussels sprouts slice into thirds or fourths. Heat oil and butter over medium heat in medium wok or skillet. Add brussels sprouts and garlic stir-fry for 5 to 10 minutes, until brussels sprouts are barely tender. Add water (or substitute with broth) cover and steam for 3 to 4 minutes remove lid and let liquid cook off. Add sugar, ginger (ground ginger may be substituted for fresh), lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Serve at once.
