In a bowl, knead together butter, oats, and sugar into a solid mass. Add egg and almond extract and knead until a smooth dough is formed. Shape into balls the size of marbles. Place on greased baking sheet. Press tops of each ball down with tines of a fork. Bake at 325° for 10–15 minutes or until golden brown.
