Preheat oven to 350°. In large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks and butter together well. Add vanilla. While beating, gradually add cake mix. Mixture should be stiff. If dough is sticky, refrigerate it 20–30 minutes.
Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, then roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 11 minutes for soft cookies; 13 minutes for crispy cookies.
Editor’s Extra: Fun to color the sugar by putting a few drops of food coloring with sugar in a zipper bag; shake till evenly coated. Great with other flavors of cake mix, too.
