Cream butter, eggs, sugars, and vanilla together and mix well. Sift flour, soda, and pudding powder together and add to creamed mixture. Add chocolate chips. Mix well. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes just until golden; do not overbake.
Note: Cook-and-serve pudding can also be used, but increase flour about 1/2 cup. Also, can use chocolate or tapioca.
