Cook sweetened condensed milk over low heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture begins to boil. Let boil, stirring constantly until it thickens, about 4 minutes. Remove from stove; add chocolate pieces and stir until melted and well blended. Add remaining ingredients; stir until blended. Pour into cooled, baked pie shell. Chill 2–3 hours. Garnish with whipped cream and stemmed cherries, if desired.
