Place huckleberries in a blender and process at LOW speed, in short intervals, just enough to break the berries. In a saucepan, combine berries with sugar and Clear Jel. Cook, stirring constantly, over moderate heat until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in almond extract.
Put vanilla ice cream in a mixing bowl and let soften just enough to mix. Pour huckleberry mixture over and mix well. Transfer into plastic ice cream pail and freeze overnight.
