Combine ricotta, baking powder, vanilla, eggs, and flour, and mix well. In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the oil to 325°. Working in batches, drop teaspoonful-size balls of dough into oil and fry until golden brown, 2–3 minutes, turning once. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while hot and serve immediately.
