Melt chocolate and 3 tablespoons butter in saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly; cool. Cream remaining butter with cheese until softened. Gradually add 1?4 cup sugar, creaming until fluffy. Blend in 1 egg, 1 tablespoon flour, and 1?2 teaspoon vanilla. Set aside. Beat remaining 2 eggs until thick and light. Gradually beat in remaining 3?4 cup sugar. Add baking powder, salt, and remaining 1?2 cup flour. Blend in cooled chocolate mixture, nuts, remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla, and almond extract.
Spread half of chocolate batter in greased 8- or 9-inch square pan. Top with cheese mixture. Spoon remaining chocolate batter onto cheese mixture. With spatula, swirl through batter to marble. Bake at 350° for 35–40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.
