Add okra slices to egg whites and toss until well coated. Combine cornmeal, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a plastic bag. Add okra slices a handful at a time to the cornmeal mixture, shaking until thoroughly coated. Remove from bag and place on a baking sheet. Okra can be refrigerated at this point. Heat oil and fry a small batch of okra at a time. If too much is added at one time, okra will smother rather than fry. Remove from oil, drain on a paper towel, and place in a warm oven until all okra is prepared. Serve immediately.

He founded Quantum Media in 1987, became president and CEO of Time Warner Cable in 1990, CEO and managing partner of Century 21 Real Estate Corporation in 1995, and finally, in 1996, he became the president and CEO of AOL, where he retired as COO in 2001.
