Southern Tomato Pie

Ingredients

2 good-size tomatoes, sliced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, or to taste
1 tablespoon oregano, or to taste
1 1/2 teaspoons chives, or to taste
1 Salt and pepper to taste
(9-inch) pie crust , cooked until light brown
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise

Directions:

Sprinkle tomato slices with seasonings; place slices in pie crust. Combine cheese and mayonnaise to make a thick paste; cover tomatoes with paste. Bake at 350° until paste is bubbly and crust is a deep, golden brown.
