Custard Pie

This recipe calls for no vanilla.


   2 cups milk
   4 eggs
   1/2 cup sugar
   1/8 teaspoon salt
   1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
   1 puff pastry shell for 9-inch pie, unbaked


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Put milk in bowl. Beat eggs and strain through fine sieve into bowl of milk. Add sugar, salt, and nutmeg. Stir well and pour into pie shell. Bake till knife just barely comes out clean, about 50 to 60 minutes. Do not overcook, or custard will become watery.
