1 package milk chocolate cake mix
3 eggs yolk
1 cup sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/3 cups coconut flakes
1 cup pecans chopped
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease and flour three 8-inch or two 9-inch round cake pans. Prepare and bake cake according to directions on package. Remove from pans and cool on wire rack. Make frosting by combining egg yolks, sugar, evaporated milk, and butter (or margarine) in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened, 12 to 15 minutes. Add vanilla, coconut, and pecans. Beat till thick. Spread between layers and on top of cake.
Variation: Frost sides of cake with chocolate frosting, and decorate with maraschino cherries.
