Drain hamburger dill slices. Discard vinegar solution. Place the well-drained pickles in bowl. Add sliced garlic and sugar. Stir. Continuing stirring until all sugar is absorbed by the pickles and a sweet syrup is made. Rinse out the pickle jar and return pickles to the jar with the sweet syrup. Refrigerate.
Fun Fact: Our country’s namesake, Amerigo Vespucci, was a pickle peddler in Seville, Spain. He supplied ships with pickled vegetables to prevent sailors from getting scurvy on long voyages. Way to go, Amerigo.
