Brown beef, onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat; drain. In a slow cooker, combine potatoes, chiles, soup mix and 6 cups water; stir in beef mixture. Add remaining water to cover ingredients as necessary. Cover and cook on low setting for 5 hours. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Tip: Be sure to include family members in meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking. Picky eaters are much more likely to eat food that they’ve helped to choose and prepare themselves!
