In a blender, process bread for several seconds until crumbs form. Remove crumbs to a bowl. Add milk, egg, vegetables, nuts and salt to blender. Process about 30 seconds, until chopped. Add to crumbs; mix well and form into 8 patties. Heat butter in a skillet. Cook patties for 5 minutes per side, turning carefully, until golden. Serve on buns, if desired.
