In frying pan, brown floured cubes of beef. Add onion, 1/4 cup water, butter or margarine, and bouillon cubes. Simmer until onion is tender. Remove from frying pan, removing all brown particles, too. Put meat and onion with juice in roasting pan, adding mushrooms, mushroom soup, and remaining 1 cup water. Simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add sour cream and noodles, cooked according to package directions. Cook 10 minutes longer. Serve hot.
Editor’s Extra: This can be done in one pot—a Dutch oven or large deep pan.
Fun Fact: Lander, Wyoming, claims to have held the first rodeo where cowboys were paid. Lander’s first rodeo was held in 1893, and the annual “Pioneer Days Rodeo” has been held on the Fourth of July ever since.
