1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 2/3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1 cup pecans chopped
1/2 cup butter
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup water hot
60 pecans halves
Cream butter (or margarine) and brown sugar; add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, and add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Fold in chopped nuts. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack. After frosting cookies, store them in covered container.
Make frosting: Cook butter in saucepan over medium heat till bubbly and golden brown. Beat in powdered sugar and hot water. Frost cooled cookies and top each with a pecan half. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
