Ingredients

1 wide-size loaf sourdough bread, unsliced
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Dijon style mustard
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
6 ounces thinly sliced ham
6 ounces thinly sliced turkey
6 slices Swiss cheese
1 melted butter

Directions:

Slice bread lengthwise; trim crust from the slices. (Save top and bottom pieces; they are great for garlic toast or croutons.) Flatten each slice with rolling pin. Combine mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire, and pepper. Spread mayonnaise mixture on each slice of bread. Layer ham, turkey, and cheese on each slice. (Use amounts of ham, turkey, and cheese as needed, not necessarily the amounts mentioned.) Roll-up sandwich; secure with toothpick. Brush with melted butter and place on baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 375° for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.

Fun Fact: The Molly Brown House Museum in Denver, Colorado, chronicles the life of Margaret Tobin Brown (July 18, 1867–October 26, 1932). An American socialite, philanthropist, and activist, Molly became famous in the 1912 sinking of the RMS Titanic after getting lifeboat 6 to return to look for survivors. She became known after her death as The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Margaret and J.J. Brown purchased the home in 1894 after making their fortune in gold mining. It was in Margaret “Molly” Brown’s possession until her death.

The city of Leadville, Colorado, was founded near silver deposits in 1877 by mine owners Horace Austin Warner Tabor and August Meyer, setting off the Colorado Silver Boom. By 1880, Leadville was one of the world's largest silver camps, with a population of over 40,000.
