Dissolve yeast, sugar, and salt in warm water. Add 1 1/4 cups flour and stir. Add egg, butter, and remaining 1 1/4 cups flour and stir. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes. Turn out on floured board and work just until dough will roll out. Butter dough and shape into rolls. Place into greased pans and let rise for 45 minutes. Bake for 20 minutes in 400° oven.
